Who We Are 

Founded in 1964 as a response to the need for professional development in literacy The Wayne County Reading Council is a local organization of teachers, students, parents, and literacy professionals that work together to improve and promote literacy through educational opproturnities, and the encouragement of quality instruction.

Over the past years the Wayne County Reading Council has had the privilege and honor of being International Reading Association Honor Council 25 times!

What We Do

The Wayne County Reading Council offers quality professional development opportunities, shares current educational research as well as supports the goals of the Michigan Reading Association and International Reading Association.
